Synonym Speaking

You would speak the sentence out loud (for both the “writing” and “speaking” examples), each time changing the vocabulary. Your practice would include speaking the following:

“Writing” examples:

1. “When it comes to finding a place to live, I believe that freshmen should not live in accommodations on campus.”

2. When it comes to finding a place to live, I believe that freshmen should not live in housing on campus.”

“Speaking” examples:

3. “Usually, there is a shortage of affordable accommodations in the downtown areas.”

4. “Usually, there is a shortage of affordable apartments in the downtown areas.”

Not only does this drill the various vocabulary and meaning into your head, it also helps reinforce correct grammar patterns that you can use for your own writing and speaking.
