IDIOM:

"stewards of the environment"

Meaning: people who are environmentally friendly

Example: "With extreme weather patterns becoming more obvious on a global scale, commuters are also becoming shouldered with the responsibility of being stewards of the environment."

Q. In twenty years, there will be fewer cars in use than there are today. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Nowadays, people are more likely to favor public transportation over personal cars due to its decreased ecological impact and convenience. With extreme weather patterns becoming more obvious on a global scale, commuters are also becoming shouldered with the responsibility of being stewards of the environment.

Your Turn! Answer the questions, using the idiom:

1. Have you ever been a steward of the environment?
2. Right now, who would you consider a steward of the environment?
