PHRASE:

"expand their social circle"

Meaning: to make more friends and expand one's network

Example: "Playing with friends not only stimulate children's imagination but also expand their social circle."

Q. Some people think that children should begin their formal education at a very early age and should spend most of their time on school studies. Others believe that young children should spend most of their time playing. Compare these two views. Which view do you agree with? Why?

When children play sports such as basketball and soccer, they can make friends, learn responsibility, and overcome adversity. It helps children not only to stimulate their imagination but also to expand their social circle.

Your Turn! Write sentences using the phrase:

1. As a kid, how did you expand your social circle?
2. How has your social circle expanded from five years ago?
3. How could you expand your social circle this year?
