Meaning: combining two things to form a whole. 

We have to strike a balance between giving up the old and integrating with the new. 


Q. When people move to another country, some of them decide to follow the customs of the new country. Others prefer to keep their own customs. Compare these two choices. Which one do you prefer? Support your answer with specific details.


When making a major life change like moving to a new country, we have to strike a balance between giving up the old and integrating with the new. There's no point in swimming against the tide, it only makes a person tired.
