SENTENCE STRUCTURE: 

 "Although...I think that..." 

Meaning: A way to show a contrast of opinion 

Example: Although there have been many great inventions over the past century, I think that the telephone has had the biggest impact. 


Q. Which invention in the past century do you think is the most important: a) the airplane; b) the telephone; c) the automobile 


Although there have been many great inventions over the past century, I think that the telephone has had the biggest impact. The telephone offers many advantages, the first and foremost of which is strengthening people's connections. 

 
Your Turn! Use the structure to write sentences:

1. People don't like rain / it's actually useful. (+because...)
2. Many people don't like learning a new language / it's quite practical. (+because...)
3. Some people don't want to learn a martial art / it's healthy and rewarding. (+because...)
